Emerging
Trend of Green and Sustainable Architecture
The world over, architects have
adopted the practice of constructing green and sustainable buildings which seek
to minimize negative environmental impact by moderately using materials, energy
and developmental space. It is a conscious approach to ecological and energy
conservation in the design of the building. With the objective of improving
human health, such buildings efficiently use energy, water and other resources,
reduce waste, pollution and environmental degradation. The first green and
sustainable building to be built in India is by AN Buildwell, the real estate company with a difference.
WTC Manesar – A Building with a Difference
The World Trade Centre in Manesar – Gurgaon is
North India’s first WTC. The project is nearing completion and it is soon going
to be the destination for multinational companies, SMEs etc. Built by the real
estate company that is very popular among buyers, WTC Manesar has ushered in a
world of innovation to India. Thanks to its unconventional designs, AN
Build well Gurgaon has won several national and global awards. It was
awarded “World’s best office development” by IPA in association with CNBC in
2009. The building complex also holds LEED Platinum and Gold certifications.
One of the key
features of the complex is the fact that it is built to control the effect of
the sun. The building has been designed according to Sun’s behaviour at the
particular latitude. This orientation gets significant quantities of daylight
as deep into the building as possible.
In a short
span of time, the World Trade Centre at Manesar have has proved to be a beacon
that meets international standards. Big companies such as TV18 (CNBC), NDTV,
Florets, Rohhan Foods, Bennett & Coleman (ToI), and Dominos have already
rented office spaces in the completed Phase-1 of the project and it is
predicted that others will soon follow.
